La Sengphet raised the button and then called a three-bet to 320,000 by Alex Dijkhoffz in the small blind. Both headed to the 9h8s7s flop on which Dijkhoffz continued for 300,000. Sengphet mulled over her decision for a while and then jammed for another 1,040,000 on top of the bet.
Now it was up to Dijkoffz to tank for a while but he made the call with the superior stack.
When the cards were revealed, Dijkhoffz exposed his Kd10c first. Once Sengphet glanced at her cards she was shell shock. “Fuck, I misread my cards, I thought I had a flush draw,” she said and then flipped over the 6s4d for a straight draw with the bottom end instead of a combo draw.
The 3c turn and 8c river were both blanks and Sengphet had to settle for third place.
